Florida Gov. Scott Visits NYC to Poach Businesses
Florida Gov. Rick Scott arrived in New York City Sunday to try to poach businesses and jobs away from the Big Apple to his own state.
Scott’s schedule will include a visit with Motorola officials as well as visits with financial institutions. He is also scheduled to appear on business station CNBC on Monday.
Scott made job growth a centerpiece of his re-election campaign. He has promised to keep working to lower Florida’s unemployment rate.
The state’s jobless rate for October was 6 percent. November unemployment numbers will be available Friday.
During his first four years, Scott took 10 trips abroad on trade missions. His last trip overseas was to Japan in November 2013.
