Ethics Panel Again Defers to Justice On Rep. Grimm
The House Ethics Committee said Wednesday it’s deferring for a third year an investigation of possible campaign finance violations by Rep. Michael Grimm, a Staten Island Republican who won re-election this month.
The panel is leaving the matter in the hands of the Justice Department, which is conducting a criminal probe in campaign finance and tax fraud.
The Justice Department probe in looking into allegations Grimm solicited and accepted prohibited contributions from foreign donors in return for help in getting a green card.
