Hikind Nets Backing From Prominent Rosh Yeshivah

BROOKLYN -

A prominent Rosh Yeshivah came out in rare public support for a candidate, urging Orthodox Jews to vote for Assemblyman Dov Hikind in next Tuesday’s election.

Harav Yisroel Reisman, shlitaRosh Yeshivah of Yeshiva Torah Vodaath, on Tuesday “expressed the value of maintaining Hikind’s leadership and representation in state office,” according to a press release by Hikind.

Hikind, a lawmaker for 32 years, is being challenged by Republican Nachman Caller, who has made affordable housing a centerpiece of his campaign.

Hikind, who learned in Torah Vodaath, met with the Rosh Yeshivah, Harav Chaim Yisroel Belsky, shlita,  who gave his warmest brachos and best wishes to his former talmid.
