2 Syrian Shells Land Near Israeli Border in Golan
Two tank shells fired from Syrian territory fell near the Israeli border with Syria in the Ramat Hagolan on Motzoei Shabbos.
One of the shells exploded inside Israel and the second one exploded on the border, but on the Syrian side of the line. b’chasdei Shamayim there were no casualties or damage. The IDF believes that these mortars were fired during battles between the Syrian army and the rebels. The Syrian army is trying to recapture the area from the rebels, who took over the border crossing last week. The IDF believes these were errant shells, and were not intentionally fired at Israel.
