Bill to Make Salt Water Taffy NJ Candy Advances

Salt water taffy is one step closer to becoming New Jersey’s official state candy, The Associated Press reported. The Assembly approved the bill Monday and it now heads to the state Senate. The soft taffy, which became popular in the late 19th century as a souvenir, does not contain any salt water.
