Mrs. Miriam Lowenbraun, a”h

The Baltimore community gathered with much sadness on Sunday to pay kvod acharon to Mrs. Miriam Lowenbraun, wife of, ybl”c, Rabbi Yitzchok Lowenbraun, director of Associated Jewish Outreach Professionals. Mrs. Lowenbraun was a scion of the famed Twerski family, and the daughter of Harav Shlomo Twerski, zt”l, Hornisteipler Rebbe of Denver. She grew up  in a home steeped in chessed and hachnasas orchim.

As the Rebbetzin of Rabbi Lowenbraun, who served for many years as the Regional Director of NCSY, she opened her own home and heart to hundreds or perhaps thousands of Yidden. She is remembered for her warm and caring heart, her tremendous hachnasas orchim, and the manner in which she built people and consequently generations of Yiddishe families. She accomplished all this despite much personal suffering, displaying tremendous emunah every step of the way.

She is survived by, ybl”c, her husband, Rabbi Yitzchok Lowenbraun; her beloved children, Rabbi Yossi Lowenbraun of Baltimore, Mrs. Shulamis Weinreb of Baltimore, Mrs. Rochel (Utchie) Horowitz of Boro Park, Miss Shoshana Lowenbraun of Baltimore, Shloimie Lowenbraun of Baltimore, and Mrs. Toby Malinsky of Baltimore; her brother, Hornisteipler Rebbe, shlita, Harav Mordechai Twerski, and her sisters, Mrs. Rochel Kaye of Eretz Yisrael, Mrs. Rivki Ganz of Boston, Mrs. Yocheved Nissan of Far Rockaway and Mrs. Malky Friedman of Yerushalayim.
