De Blasios Begin Move to Gracie Mansion
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio’s family is finally beginning their move to Gracie Mansion after the official mayor’s residence was empty for more than a decade, first lady Chirlane McCray wrote online.
De Blasio’s predecessor, Michael Bloomberg, chose to remain in his Upper East Side townhouses. De Blasio, a Democrat elected in November, debated for weeks whether to move out of his family’s longtime home in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
The family eventually decided to relocate but then delayed the start of the actual move. It began Monday and will continue through September.
DNAInfo.com reported that the first family left some unwanted free items on his front curb.
