NY State Troopers Receive Emergency Kits
New York state is spending $2.7 million in federal grant money to distribute advanced first aid kits law enforcement officers can wear on their belts. The military-tested “belt trauma kits” include gauze, a tourniquet, gloves and a “CPR shield” to help rescuers safely deliver breaths to people in cardiac or respiratory arrest. More than 30,000 kits were purchased and almost two-thirds have been distributed.
