Apollo 11 Checklist, Spacesuit Sold at Auction
An Apollo 11 lunar checklist containing annotations by astronaut Buzz Aldrin while he was on the moon was among the coveted items sold at a Bonhams auction Tuesday. It went for more than $68,000, up from a pre-sale estimate of $45,000. Other highlights included a cloth emblem of an eagle landing on the moon that was signed by Aldrin, Armstrong and Michael Collins which sold for $62,000. A U.S. flag carried by Aldrin fetched $47,500, double its pre-sale estimate, and a spacesuit garnered over $43,000, more than five times its estimate.
