Manhattan Subway Station Evacuated Due to Fire

NEW YORK

About 75 people were evacuated Wednesday at noon from a Manhattan subway station at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue due to a nearby fire, with one person hospitalized for minor smoke inhalation, The Associated Press reported. There also were initial reports of carbon monoxide. The smoke came from a nearby manhole fire.
