Barge Arrives in NJ With Coveted Road Salt
A barge carrying 9,500 tons of much-needed road salt has arrived in New Jersey from Maine as another winter storm approaches Wednesday morning, the Associated Press reported. The state’s salt supply is dangerously low due to numerous storms this season, having used more than 100,000 tons more salt by early February than in all of last winter. A big storm can use up to 20,000 tons.
