Cuomo Appoints Panel on Common Core Rollout

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday he assembled a diverse panel to look into the state’s rollout of the Common Core Learning Standards, with recommendations by the end of June. The tests have been adopted by all but a handful of states as a uniform set of K-12 benchmarks. But critics say Cuomo rushed the rollout and shouldn’t punish teachers if students do poorly.
