Times Square Asked by Con Ed to Reduce Power

NEW YORK

Con Edison on Thursday asked large customers in midtown Manhattan including Times Square to reduce power while crews repair electrical cables eroded by road salt, melting snow and ice, CBS News reported. The frayed cables caused at least two manhole explosions over the past month, one in Manhattan and another in Boro Park.
