Weather Delays Some West NY Schools, Closes Roads

SYRACUSE, N.Y.

Blowing snow causing white-out conditions has forced the shutdown of a stretch of I-81 north of the city and several other upstate New York roads on Monday, The Associated Press reported. Several dozen schools called off classes as the region was blasted by another round of snow and high winds gusting to more than 40 mph in some areas. The National Weather Service has issued a wind-chill warning for most of western New York until late Tuesday morning.
