Huge Tent, With Seats for 50,000, Eyed for Mass Rally

NEW YORK

As intense planning continues for the mass rally that will be the highlight of the trip to the U.S. by members of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisrael in Eretz Yisrael, askanim have tentatively decided to erect a heated tent, which will sit some 50,000 people.

As previously reported, this historic trip is intended to communicate to American Jewry what is really transpiring in Eretz Yisrael, and educate the public about the true facts regarding the ongoing injustice to and harassment of chareidi Jewry in Eretz Yisrael.

The rally is scheduled to take place, b’ezras Hashem, on Tuesday, Parashas Beshalach — January 7.

Askanim are seriously considering the possibility of requesting a permit to erect a heated tent on Floyd Bennet Field, on Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn. The location was once a famous airport, and is now a recreational area, managed by the National Park Service.

Early plans call for the tent to be square, with all 50,000 seats located on ground level.
