Hamas Leader’s Granddaughter Returns Home From Israeli Hospital

The critically ill granddaughter of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was returned from an Israeli hospital to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after doctors were unable to save her, according to media reports.

The one-year-old Amal Haniyeh, suffering from what was described by a source in Gaza as “an acute digestive tract infection,” was admitted in serious condition to Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petach Tikvah on Sunday.

However, doctors there said they were unable to help her. She was reportedly in a state of “clinical death,” AFP cited Palestinian sources as saying Monday.

The Hamas prime minister’s eldest son Abdel Salam confirmed that his daughter had been transferred to Israel for medical treatment.
