Bank Robbery Suspects Caught After Thruway Crash

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (AP) —

Two people who robbed a Rochester-area bank were caught after they tried to flee from state police and ended up crashing on the Thruway.

The robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon at a bank in the town of Irondequoit. Town police gave a description of the getaway car to troopers, who spotted the vehicle traveling west on Interstate 90. The driver refused to stop and hit a state police vehicle before crashing into the median 23 miles east of Buffalo.
