Investigation Continues in Psagot Attack

Police were continuing their efforts on Monday to track down the Palestinian terrorist who shot and wounded a 9-year-old girl in Psagot, near Ramallah, on Motzoei Shabbos, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Investigators think the man broke through the security fence around the community before entering the house where he apparently had planned to attack the girl’s entire family.

“We’re still looking at all the possible directions,” a security source said. “We assume that the hole in the fence and the footprints are linked to the incident.”

The Shin Bet (Israel General Security Service) is leading the investigation along with an investigatory team from Yehuda and Shomron District police.

At a meeting with a group of Knesset members in Ramallah on Monday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas did not directly condemn the attack.

“Two days ago a girl was shot or stabbed. That is not the topic of discussion for today. Four Palestinians were killed in Kalandiya, too,” Abbas stated. “We should all condemn murder and bloodshed of innocents.”

Nine Labor MKs and Movement’s David Tzur of the Knesset Caucus to End the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict met with Abbas and several other Palestinian officials.
