West Nile Virus Detected in Mosquitoes in NYC

NEW YORK (AP) —

The West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes in New York City for the first time this season, in parts of Queens and Staten Island. No human cases of the virus have been discovered to date.

The health department is setting up additional traps and applying larvicide to catch basins and other breeding grounds.
