Hagaon Harav Ovadia Yosef’s Surgery Successful
Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center reported that Hagaon Harav Ovadia Yosef, shlita, successfully underwent back surgery on Monday.
At the conclusion of surgery under general anesthesia, Harav Yosef was fully conscious and breathing on his own.
Special tefillos were held to daven for the Rav’s refuah shleimah at the kever of Rabi Shimon bar Yochai and many batei medrash and shuls, including Yeshivah Merkaz Harav in Yerushalayim.
Hospital sources said that the operation turned out to be more complicated than the doctors expected because the fractured vertebra “had moved from its place.”
B’chasdei Shamayim, however, it was concluded successfully and Rav Yosef was transferred to the recovery room.
The public is asked to continue davening for Harav Ovadia ben Georgia.
