City Posts ‘No Parking’ Sign, Promptly Tickets Cars

NEW YORK

City workers who posted new “No Parking” signs on a busy Manhattan street promptly ticketed everyone on the block just minutes later, witnesses, backed by an NBC New York video, said.

A surveillance video shows workers changing signs on West 15th Street on Saturday that barred parking Mondays and Thursdays to a general “No Standing” sign at all times.

Moments later, traffic agents came by and wrote $115 tickets for the cars that had been legally parked there that morning.

“I don’t think they knew what they were doing, or there was no correspondence between the two agencies,” Karim Znaidi said.
