King and Queen of Sweden Visit N.Y.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden headed to Harlem Wednesday afternoon for lunch at a local restaurant. The royal couple earlier toured the Castle Clinton National Monument, the country’s first immigration center, in Battery Park.
The Swedish royalty are visiting the U.S. to celebrate the 375th anniversary of the arrival of the first Swedish and Finnish settlers to the country, who settled New Sweden in Wilmington, Delaware.
The king and queen will make stops in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to visit historical sites before arriving in Delaware Saturday.
