Suspicious Note Spurs Central NJ School Evacuation
Students at a central New Jersey school were briefly moved to another building after a suspicious note was found in their school.
Marlboro Township schools spokeswoman Sharon Witchel says Tuesday morning’s evacuation at the Memorial Middle School was done “out of an abundance of caution.” She says all students soon returned to the building “well before” their regular dismissal at 2:30 p.m.
Witchel says township police officers went through the building before students were allowed to return. No injuries were reported in the evacuation.
Authorities declined to disclose details about the note’s contents, citing the ongoing investigation.
