Harav Binyamin Eisenberger to Spend Shabbos on Upper West Side

Harav Binyamin Eisenberger, Rav of Khal Heichal Hatefillah in Boro Park, has been delivering shiurim in various communities in the New York area over the last several years, including Flatbush, Cedarhurst and Lawrence.

For a little over a year now, approximately every three weeks, the Rav has been delivering shiurim at Manhattan’s Upper West Side to an appreciative and growing audience at the home of Reb Sruli and Michelle Deutsch. These shiurim were initiated at the behest of Reb Sruli, a devoted talmid of Harav Eisenberger. Reb Sruli is a son of Rabbi Shmiel Deutsch, founder of Lev Bais Yaakov in Brooklyn, and he is a son-in-law of Reb Rumi and Kicia Reiss.

At the conclusion of each shiur by Harav Eisenberger, the participants have an opportunity to meet privately with the Rav and receive his guidance on matters of shalom bayis, chinuch, parnassah and a variety of other issues affecting their daily lives.

Through the months, the participants of Harav Eisenberger’s shiur in the Upper West Side have forged a close kesher with him, having gained tremendously under his influence, and have requested him to come for a Shabbos. Consequently, Rav Eisenberger will spend this coming Shabbos, Parashas Ki Sisa in their community. He will be hosted at the Deutsch residence and the tefillos, oneg Shabbos on Leil Shabbos, kiddush on Shabbos morning and shalosh seudos will take place at various shuls and locations in the community.

Harav Eisenberger’s beis medrash in Boro Park began approximately a decade ago with about two dozen families and has grown much beyond that humble beginning. The mispallelim stem from a variety of backgrounds. The Rav is known for his fascinating shiurim in Gemara, Tanach, machshavah and other topics in which he explains the profundity of Shabbos, Yamim Tovim, tefillah and many other ikkarim of Yiddishkeit. The tefillos in his beis medrash, Khal Heichal Hetefillah, radiate the simchah and enthusiasm of Yiddishkeit. The Rav was a close of talmid of Harav Yitzchok Dov Koppelman, zt”l, Rosh Yeshivah in Lucerne, Switzerland, and Harav Nosson Tzvi Finkel, zt”l, Rosh Yeshivah of Mir Yerushalayim. He transmits the lessons and legacy of these Gedolim in his shiurim and shmuessen.

All residents of the Upper West Side community are invited to participate in the tefillos and gatherings with Harav Eisenberger, details of which will be available at the local shuls. This extraordinary Shabbos with the Rav promises to be a source of much chizuk and inspiration for the members of this chashuve kehillah.
